CamDial for macOS

CamDial collects nothing. It has no network access, and it never opens a video stream.

What is collected

Nothing. CamDial does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs of any kind.

Why that claim is verifiable

CamDial is distributed as a sandboxed Mac App Store application, and it is built without the com.apple.security.network.client entitlement. macOS enforces this at the system level: the app is structurally unable to open an outbound network connection. This is a property of the shipped binary, and Apple verifies it during review.

Camera access

CamDial asks for the camera entitlement for one purpose only: to ask macOS whether your camera is currently in use, so it knows when another app has turned the camera on and your saved settings need restoring. That check returns a yes-or-no answer and no image data. CamDial never opens a video stream, and never views, records, or transmits video or audio.

The camera's settings themselves — exposure, focus, white balance, zoom and the rest — are written to the camera over USB. Reading and writing them involves no image data either.

Your settings

The settings you save are stored on your Mac, in CamDial's own sandboxed preferences. They never leave your computer.

Purchases

CamDial's unlock is a one-time in-app purchase through the Mac App Store. There is no subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; the developer receives only the purchase status — never payment details or personally identifying information about purchasers.

Children

CamDial is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date below. Any change that would introduce data collection would also require adding network access to the app, which would be visible in the App Store release notes.
